Thank you for submitting your question, I can understand your concern in proper installation of a part. I will be glad to assist you today. The coupling is threaded onto the end on the motor shaft. The coupling is left hand threads. To loosen the coupling you have to turn the coupling clockwise. You have to hit the end of the wrench to break the coupling loose otherwise the motor will turn. There is no real easy way to hold the motor shaft to keep it from turning. When you reinstall the coupling, do not use any kind of a thread locker. Thread lock will make it nearly impossible to remove the coupling in the future. If you need further information, please submit to the thread below with details.
