Question and Answers

Q:

Replacing water filter ED5GTQXKQ01 Whirlpool Side-by-side refrigerator

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be more than happy to help with your refrigerator. Upon researching model ED5GTQXKQ01; this refrigerator does not have a water filter built in. A water filter inline (universal) can be added to the back water line to filter the water. I have posted a link of the inline filter we have available to view the link click here.

I trust this information will help you, we appreciate your business thank for choosing Sears.

Q:

Why won't the ice maker fill with water?

A:

Unless the unit is wired incorrectly, there won't be a voltage reading between the terminals listed. Check between L-N for voltage. Be careful making these hot checks. If there is 120 volts there, then use a well insulated jumper and place it between L-V. You should get water flow now to the ice maker. If there is no water flow the water valve will probably need to be replaced. If there is water flow, remove the jumper and place it between T-H and the ice maker should start into a cycle. If it does start, after about 5 seconds remove the jumper. If the ice maker cycles completely and fills, replace the ice maker. If it won't cycle with the jumper in place, check the voltage again between L-N with the jumper still in place and if you still have 120 volts, the ice maker will need to be replaced.
