Question and Answers

Q:

Why would the ice maker quit after the filter was changed?

A:

If the water dispenser is working, the filter won't have anything to do with the ice maker not working. The fill tube could be frozen not allowing a water fill. If this is the case the valve will need to be replace. The ice maker may not be sending a voltage signal to the water valve. The ice maker could be defective. You can make a couple of checks to determine if the ice maker or the water valve is the problem with a well insulated jumper. First jump terminals T-H on the ice maker module to see if it will cycle. If it won't cycle the ice maker will need to be replaced. If it does cycle after a few seconds remove the jumper and watch for the water fill at the end of the cycle. If it won't fill use the jumper again and jump terminals L-V. If you get water the ice maker will need to be replaced. If you get no water the valve will need to be replaced. I'm sending you a picture and information on the module about the test points. If you need more assistance you can resubmit your question with more details.
