Thanks for contacting ManageMyLife.com. I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with the ice maker not working on the refrigerator. We are here to help. I suspect the problem is with the ice maker itself. The fuse may have blown or the wire harness to the ice maker burned. That would have caused the rubber burning smell in the freezer. On the third image below the fuse is key #5. The easiest way to check the harness and fuse is, to remove the ice maker from the freezer. Just unplug the ice maker in the back, and remote the 3 screws holding the ice maker in place. After you either fixed the problem or verified those parts are good, install the ice maker and plug it in. Now you can perform the other tests that is shown on the 1st and 2nd image. The solenoid most likely is good. I hope this helps.
