Question and Answers

Q:

Whirlpool side by side not making ice. I have replaced the optics board. I just received new ice assembly from you guys. Dont think it is working either. Help! ED2KHAXVL00

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be happy to help with your refrigerator. Upon researching model PLHS268ZCB2; there are a couple reasons the icemaker is not getting water. The icemaker fill tube could be frozen. Change the water tube with the ice tube on the water valve. Then Press the water dispenser paddle and see if water enters the icemaker. If not the ice maker fill tube could be frozen or clogged. The led emitter sends a signal to the receiver. If either board is out it won’t signal the icemaker to make more ice. The led blinking is indicating what cycle the icemaker is on. The water valve could have failed and is not sending water to the icemaker. There are two solenoids on the valve so water can still be sent to the water dispenser but not the icemaker.

Thank you for choosing Sears. We appreciate your business. Have a great day.

The model # you have listed above is not the same as mine. My model # is listed above in the question. The fill tube for my model is on the roof of the freezer. I have moved it around and it does not appear frozen. I will check the water valve. How do i test that? Also should the ice maker assembly register some movement when jumped. It should not matter if if the water valve is working or not.
