A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when having trouble with the parts.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Kenmore Refrigerator model number ED25CQXFW02 .

Yes, should just push it right into the grooves but here is something that might help.   Good luck.

1.  Make sure you buy the exact gasket per the model.

2.  Soak the new gasket in hot water in the sinke to make sure it is pliable.

3.  Pull the old gasket off.

4.  Push in the new gasket by pushing it beneath the retainer.

The seal should lie straight and smooth all the way around the door.

A good idea also after done.  Put a flashlight inside the freezer with the light pointing towards the door opening.
Shut the door.  Turn off the kitchen lights.  You shouldn't see any lights leaking through the door.

Good luck.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter and I hope we can help you with your future questions and repairs. Thank you for choosing Sears and using our SearsPartsDirect.com.

I'm sorry you are having this problem. Unfortunately, without a model number, I will not be able to provide specific information. However, based on the information listed, the most likely problem will be with the thermostat. Some models also have the defrost timer located in the control panel, which could be causing this problem. If the unit quits running frequently, it relates more to the thermostat but if it only happens maybe once a day or only maybe every other day, it relates more to the timer. If you would like more assistance, a complete model and serial number will be needed and I will be glad to assist you further. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

A:

Carson: The best way to check a bi-metal will be to check the continuity. Disconnect power to the unit first. Next disconnect the bi-metal wires and then check the resistance of the bi-metal. It should read zero resistance when closed and complete resistance when open.
