Why does my electric dryer make an intermittent scraping noise?

Noisy dryers raise many concerns. I see you have received various opinions as to cause. The experts will review your model and respond with advice specifically for this dryer. If you would like to see what parts your dryer has, I attached the schematics at Sears Parts Direct in the first link below. If you decide to schedule an experienced technician to diagnose and make repairs, an option is the second link for Sears Home Services.

I took it apart and cleaned it out. There are little plastic glide clips that the drum sits on. The two plastic clips on the top look really old and worn. When I put everything back together, it doesn't scrape anymore, but I would still like to replace those clips. Do you know what the part number is and where I could find some? Thanks.

Hi Nunya ,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

I am sorry you are having problems with your dryer.

From your description I believe you are talking about the drum slides. I have included an image below and marked them for you. Here are the part numbers for those WE1M481 and WE1M333. The bearing is part number WE3M26.

Here is a link that you may use to view the parts list diagram and for parts purchases; Sears Parts Direct .

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Thanks again for using Manage My Life.
