Q:

Gas Dryer Won't Dry DVLR223GG8WW Ge Gas dryer

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be happy to help with your dryer. Upon researching model number DVLR223GG8WW; the gas coils can produce this kind of issue. The igniter would not glow if it was a thermostat or sensor issue. I recommend calling our repair department to have a tech diagnose the unit.

Thank you for choosing Sears. We appreciate your business. Have a great day.

A:

Thank you for your question.  I am sorry you are having a problem with your GE DVLR223gg8ww top load washer

From the description you give It sounds like the motor is cutting off on the overload.  This can indicate a motor problem but the start switch might also be the cause of this problem.

The start switch is a momentary switch.  When turned the circuit to start the motor is closed but when the switch is released the circuit to the motor should be open.  If the start switch remains closed the motor will overheat and shut down on overload.  After cooling the overload will reset.

I would start by checking the start switch.  You can reply below with any additional details for further assistance.

You can also have the problem repaired in your home by a Sears technician. Here is the link: Sears Home Services Dryer Repair.
