Thank you for submitting your question. I recommend removing the complete ice maker to check the components for rusting. To remove the ice maker, first unplug the refrigerator from the wall . Then remove the freezer drawer. The instructions for removing the drawer are in the image below. Once the drawer is out remove the pull our shelf. You now have access to the ice maker. There should be one screw on bottom that has to be removed. Then two on the top that need to be loosened. The two on the top can be difficult to see but they are there. Once they are out the ice maker should be loose. Just disconnect the wires and it is out. After inspecting the unit for rust, you can reinstall the ice maker in the reverse order. Make sure the fill tube it the fill cup on the back of the ice maker. If all checks okay in there, then I recommend checking your auger assembly for rusted component. I hope this information helps. Thank you for your question. I know it can be disappointing when the ice dispenser stops working. Since the auger motor is not running at all but the water dispenser does work, the most likely problem will be with the motor. Some voltage checks at the motor will need to be made to determine for sure. If you have a meter and feel confident that you can safely make these checks, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
