Q:

I have a Lumix DMC-LZ3 Camera and have bought 2 new memory cards for it and keep getting error messages that keep saying to check the card.

A:

Having a problem withe camera can be frustrating. I did some research but was not able to find an answer to the error messages. There is some good information on Panasonic's website. I added a link below for you. I do hope that this will help you until your expert responds to your question. It may take 24-48 hours.

Hello Cindi,

I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with your camera and I would like to assist you. The message that you have described is most likely due to the camera not being able to communicate with the card. The first thing to inspect is the lock switch on the card. I have included a diagram from the owner's manual that describes the card operation. I have highlighted the part about the media card's lock switch and it's location. If this proves not to be the issue, I suggest carefully inspecting the port where the card plugs in for debris. There may be something causing the card to not make a good connection with the contacts in the camera.

Another thing that you may want to try after verifying the lock switch is not locked is to format the card. Some cameras will not write data to their storage cards unless they have been formatted by that camera first.

Please let me know if there is anything further that I may assist you with.
