Dryer doesn't heat. DLG3744W Lg Dryer

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears
I am sorry and do understand your frustration when there is trouble with the dryer not heating.
Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your LG model number dlg3744w.

I see you have cleaned out the vents.   That is good to hear, the first thing I like to remind all to do for safety.

On your gas dryer there are 2 key ingredients to check out and that is first the ignitor and then the gas valve.

You can test them with a meter.   If the ignitor and burner is good then look off the funnel right behind it and there are two thermostats on it.   Ignitor is key number M160, The burner valve is key number 110, and the 2 thermostats to check are key number M220 and M230 on the picture listed below.   Good luck.

Thanks for choosing Sears

My dryer LG mod. DLG3744W does not work, I would like to test the computer and the motor since I check everything else and it seems everything is ok.

Thanks for contacting  ManageMyLife. I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your appliance.

The clicking is the relays on the control board.  When start is pressed the motor relay closed and the checks for the voltage is on the picture.  If brown to yellow reading is 0 volts AC and the brown to white is 120 volts AC the door switch is good and the problem is at the motor belt switch, outlet thermostat or the motor.  If the brown to yellow is 0 volts and the brown to yellow is 0 volts check the wh-2 to the yellow on GN2 and if the voltage reading with the door closed is 120 volts AC the door switch is faulty.

NOTE:  Live voltage checks are dangerous, and possibly deadly. Exercise caution at all times.

If you are not comfortable working with live electricity I recommend you call a Sears Home Services  technician.

NOTE:  Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service.

Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts.

Thank you for submitting your question. You can test the igniter on your dryer. Other components that aid your dryer in heating are the thermostats, thermal fuse, thermal cut-off, and the coil valves for the burner assembly. All these components can be tested with an ohms meter for continuity. Here is a video on how to test your dryer igniter. If you do not feel comfortable performing test or repairing this problem yourself, I recommend scheduling for service. You can schedule for service online with our Sears Home Services team. Please reply back to this thread with more details if you require further assistance. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
