Hi Sam,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

I am sorry you are having problems with your dryer.

The model number you gave is either incomplete or inaccurate. I think you may have a DLE3777W. Please check this and include that information when replying to this post.

It is normal for the cooling status light to be on constantly during the cycle and then when in cool down it will flash.

You will need to ventilate your laundry area, disconnect the vent from the back of your dryer and monitor the temperature of the exhaust for at least 5 minutes. I need to know the temperatures high and low as the dryer cycles heat on and off.

Please perform the diagnostic tests detailed here and report back with your findings. I am looking forward to assisting you again in the near future.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Thanks again for using Manage My Life.

Thank you for your question.

I can understand wanting to know if the dryer belt will stretch and needs replacing.

You did not mention what the problem is.

For as young as this dryer is I would think that the belt is not stretched or worn out yet. But it could happen.

  • If the drum is not rotating I would check the belt idler for not correctly putting tension on the belt.

  • If the belt does shows wear I would replace it.

The part number for the belt is;4400EL2001A and you can purchase it from;Sears Parts Direct .

If you could give us some more information we will be glad to help you further.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.
