Question and Answers

Q:

dryer shuts off DLE2050W Lg Dryer

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be happy to help with your dryer. Upon researching model DLE2050W; this unit has a door switch. When the unit starts it could cause some vibration. The vibration could be causing the door switch to un-activate if it’s starting to go out. You could test continuity through the switch while activating it. Then move it around and see if it still has continuity. I would start with the door switch if the entire unit stops.

Thank you for choosing Sears. We appreciate your business. Have a great day.

Hi Christy,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

I recommend checking the wire connections on the main control board. I have included an image below that demonstrates how to remove the top. Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts.

On the control board there are 2 relays with black wires (see second image blow), make sure they are seated well. The interior light can come on with no power to the control.

Next with your meter check the voltages as shown in the third image. Working with live electrical current can be very hazardous and possibly deadly. Do not attempt these measurements without the proper tools and safeguards. If you are not already sure you can perform these checks safely and competently, refer this work to a qualified professional.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

I hope this is helpful. Check the things I have covered here, and if I may be of further assistance, include more details in a reply to this post.

Q:

LG DLE2050W Dryer just stopped working

A:

A dryer that is relatively new that stops functioning would be upsetting. I see from the owner's manual the warranty was one year, but I would still consider having an experienced technician diagnose and make repairs if needed. That would give some temporary warranty at least. I attached the Sears Home Services scheduler below if needed. I also added a previous expert post for this type issue that may help make some checks. Hope this information helps while you wait for the expert.

Hello,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

I am sorry you are having problems with your dryer.

The remaining checks will require the use of an ohm/volt meter and you will have to perform ohm checks and/or live voltage checks. If you have an ohm/volt meter and are confident in your technical abilities, please reply below and I will be happy to give you the checks.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

I hope this is helpful. Check the things I have covered here and if I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Thanks again for using Manage My Life.
