Thank you for submitting your question. I know the noise you're hearing is very disconcerning and I will be happy to assist you. You could be experiencing an issue with the drum felt and guide (WE9M30) or the drum bearing (WE1M462). Pull the dryer out so you can get to the back wall of the dryer to check the axle bearing mount in the center of the back panel. Remove the front panel and then the drum from the cabinet and examine the drum bearing (image below). If the drum bearing is in good condition, then the issue will be with the felt and guide. You should be able to see wear and tear on the felt and guide. You can order parts from our Sears Parts Direct web site. I hope this helps. Please reply back to this thread if you require further assistance. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Q:

How and where do I change the lamp on my GE dryer model DHDSR46GE1WW?

A:

The light in this dryer is above the dryer opening just inside the drum. The procedure for changing this light is shown in the image below. This is an excerpt from the owner's manual for this dryer. I found this manual on the GE Appliances website. Here is a link for the manual: Owner's Manual .

If you have trouble opening this link, visit the GEappliances.com website.
