Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

This model of Fisher Paykel dryer is built by GE and if the belt breaks or comes off the motor pulley, the dryer will not remain running when the start button is released.

If the drum will not turn while pressing and holding the start button while the motor is running; it's because the drum belt is broken or has come off. Your model has a broken belt switch and if the belt breaks or comes off the motor pulley, the broken belt switch will open and break the voltage supply to the motor once the start button is released. Check the belt and you will likely find it has come off or is broken. I do not have model specific instructions to provide but I added an image below of the GE branded dryer and instructions how to access the belt. I also added an image of the belt routing and the wiring diagram of a model DE06 Fisher Paykel electric dryer. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing.

Check the things I have covered here and if I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

The timer and selector switch assembly in this dryer are a little more complicated to access than most dryers. I provided access information and a wiring diagram for this model in the image below. Since you are not getting any power to the selector switches, you can unplug the dryer and check the wiring connections on the timer first. The power for the dryer goes through that time first (through the red wire). You will also need to check the neutral wiring connections. If you find a loose wiring connection, you may be able to fix this problem on your own. If you do not find any loose wiring connections, you will probably need to have a service technician check the components and repair the dryer. If you want further help with fixing this problem yourself, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.
