Question and Answers

Q:

dryer won't heat up DDG7280RAL Ge Gas dryer

A:

Since the glow ignitor does not come on, you could have a failed timer switch or temperature switch. Here is a link for the wiring diagram on that dryer with the circuit through the igniter traced in red.

I recommend that you check the continuity through the temperature switch and the timer using that wiring diagram as a guide.

A bad ignitor also will not glow. If the igniter is okay and the entire circuit is good, then you could have a problem with the drive motor centrifugal switch (M1 to M2). You can check that switch if you can activate it manually. M1 to M2 should be "electrically closed" when the dryer motor is running.

I hopt that these tips help. If you need further assistance, let us know.
