Question and Answers

How do I remove and replace the drum bearing on a GE model DDE8500RCM dryer?

The instructions to remove the drum from the drum bearing are in the image below. Remember to unplug the power cord first.

If you already have the front panel off the drum pulls up to come out of the bearing. The drum bearing has a U shape and drum shaft sits down in it and is removed by pulling up on the drum.

Sometimes if the bearing as partially melted it can be difficult to remove the drum from the bearing.

I hope this information helps to resolve this problem but if you have more questions then submit another question with any additional details for further assistance with this problem.
