Question and Answers

A Sears technician repaired my dryer in May. Two days ago, a stringy piece of plastic/rubber was in dryer. It still works. Should I call and make an appointment?

Hello, It is great that your appliance is still working properly. However, you should only schedule a maintenance or service appointment if your appliance is working improperly. There is no need to spend money for a tech if you don't have to. I hope you appliance continues to work properly!

From your description, it sounds like pieces of the inner door gasket have fallen off. The dryer will work perfectly fine however, over time the gasket may fall apart. The gasket seals the dyer shut and without it, hot air will leak. This was not apart of the initial service call based off the parts list. You can reschedule a service but you may have to pay additional charges. You can visit and click on "repair" to begin.
