front load dryer wont heat. DCVH680EJ1MR Ge Electric dryer

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when the trouble  comes up with the dryer in heating.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your GE model number dcvh680ej1mr

When it comes to the heating problem you have a coulple of avenues to look at.  You have the heating element itself which is the back end of the dryer.  Screwed near the top on both sides are 3 different thermostats which can all be checked by a meter to see if you have continutity going through.

Here are the parts below so you can click on and be ready to go.  The thermostat that goes out the most is the high limit thermostat and thermistor but need to check all.

Hi limit thermostat per model dcvh680ej1mr

inlet thermistor thermostat per model dcvh680ej1mr

safety thermostat per model dcvh680ej1mr

heating element per model dcvh680ej1mr

In helping with your dryer.  The first thing to let everyone know is that they must first check there lint screen.  Pull it out and make sure the vent the screen goes into is not plugged.   Next check the vent area where it goes outside the house.   A dryer has to have a free movement of air to prevent heating problems and fire hazzards.

If you have further questions please let me know.
Thanks for choosing Sears

Hi Chad,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

The first thing I recommend is checking for error codes. This dryer has a way to recall error codes. If the control detects a problem it will identify it with an error code. I am including this information in a set of images below. These error codes are important to ensure proper diagnosis of your appliance.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Here is a link that you may use to view the parts list diagram or to purchase any parts needed; Sears Parts Direct .

Please perform the diagnostic tests detailed here and report back with your findings. Be sure to record any failures and when they occur along with any error codes that are displayed.
