Q:

why wont my touch pad on my ge cafe microwave work anymore

A:

I am sorry you are experiencing difficulties with your Microwave. Microwaves contain high voltage internal components that can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is completely unplugged. Door repairs and adjustments, even minor ones, can cause microwave leakage and a microwave shielding leakage test must be performed using a survey meter after any microwave service. I strongly suggest that you have this repair handled only by a qualified service technician. I have provided a link To Sears Home Services if you decide to schedule service. If you think it may be cost effective to just replace the unit, I have also provided a link to the Microwave section of Sears.com to price out what a replacement would cost.

I know that it can be very difficult to have issues with your microwave. It may be in a control lockout mode. Press and HOLD OFF for about 3-5 seconds and then see if it will accept any commands.

If it doesn't work; try disconnecting the power cord from the power source and then reconnect the power cord. If your not able to set the clock and program the control then you will need to call and schedule to have it diagnosed and repaired.

You can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services . I do not recommend that you try this yourself. There are several dangerous components that can cause serious injury if you don't know how to discharge them. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
