Q:

Will Part #6976 (the clamp for the tool stock) fit my lathe? Lathe: 101.06260, part L10, L107 or L10-7

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

Unfortunately, due to the age of this lathe, we are very limited with the information we have. Based upon the parts list I do see, I don't see the original clamp being broken down, and we do not seem to recognize the clamp 6976. I would try it out if it's close, but if all else fails, you could have the clamp machined locally as well.

I wish we had a better answer for you, the age is just prohibiting what we can offer. We apologize for the inconvenience and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Mower model 917376742 lower handle replacement 433842X479 doesn't fit 917376742

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the handle. I will be happy to assist you. Push the sides of the handle in to fit it to the mounting pins. The reason it is spread out a little is so that it stays in the locking notches in the brackets. First, put one side on the pin. Then push the other side in and place it on the other pin. It will mount if you do that.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

I just put up my gazebo. These are my own instructions. For the corners you will use the side panels--two narrow and one wide. The narrow panels have a pin at the bottom that slides into a keyhole shaped hole. The sides are beveled so look at them to be sure you are attaching the correct sides together. Some of the bolts are longer than others; you will use the longer bolts here and also you need to use washers which are supplied. Finally, these are 6 mm metric bolts. I suggest you use a socket wrench rather than the wrench supplied. Or you could use a small Crescent wrench. I did this myself but two people would be helpful. Set a narrow panel next to the wide one and put the pin on the narrow panel into the hold on the wide one. Silde it down into the keyhole. There are two holes for bolts; put in two bolts and washers. Tighten them finger tight if you can. (a few holes were too stiff for me to get the bolts to move with my fingers). Then go to the other side of the wide panel and repeat the process. Repeat it for all of the corner panels. They will stand up by themselves. You should have 4 cross bars shaped like a very shallow U. Take one of the short ones. Line up two corners so they are as far apart as the cross bar. Take two bolts, 2 washers and a short crossbar in you hands. Go to one end, attach the bottom hole of the crossbar to the bottom hole on the end panel, screw in finger tight, continue to hole the crossbar and walk to the other end and do the same thing. Then take another bolt and washer, turn one end of the bar up and attach it in its proper hole. Do the same at the other end. (This step is easier with a helper). Repeat that for the other short cross bar and then repeat it for the long corss bars. Now your Gazebo will be standing. (I'm out of space. I'll try to get back).

You will find a part that looks like a wheel with no rim. If you look closely you will see that there are 4 sets of 3 spokes. You will also find 4 curved bars which have ends for bolts. Again, 2 bars are somewhat longer than the two others. Set the wheel on the table. Attach one curved bar to a center spoke, the other bar of the same length to the opposite spoke. Do the same thing with the other bars so the shorter bars are opposite each other and the longer ones are too. Lay it down on the table right side up. Orient it so the longer bars face the center sections of the shallow U shaped bars. Take some string, tie it through the bolt hold and hang this whole contraption from the shallow U shaped bars. Then go around shortening the string until little by little until the whole contraption is about 3 inches from the frame. Then, standing on a ladder, go around again and use your shorter bolts with no washer to attach These bars to the frame of your gazebo. Finger tighten the bolts if you can; if you need a wrench to get the bolts in don't tighten all the way yet. You will find 4 pieces that look like small ladders with a Y at one end. Also, if you observe the top of the wide panels you will see 2 U shaped holes. Take a ladder and insert it into a wheel spoke so the Y is on the bottom. Take one of the remaining curved pieces and put one end into a Y; let the other end hand over the side piece. Move your ladder and attach the end to the wide side piece so it drops into the hole and the ball fasteners pops out of the U shaped side hole. Go to the opposite side and repeat the process. Go to the other branch of the Y and repeat again; finally go back to the place you started and do the other branch of the Y. The other corners are done in the same way. I am still working on the canvas so I cannot give instructions for that. There is a hole in the large part of the roof that goes on first. Other than that I'm figuring it out.

Here is the owner's manual for the Sears Sport 20 cargo carrier: Owner's Manual . You can try to mount that rack to the 1 1/8" cross bars using the existing hardware for that rack. Since you are asking this question, I assume that the carriage bolts are not long enough to secure the saddle to the underside of that tubular cross bar. If that is the case, then the carrier is not really compatible with that type of roof rack. There is a chance that you can mount it to that rack but you would have to find longer carriage bolts and wing nuts that are compatible with the carrier that you could use to attach it. You can check at your local hardware store for those longer carriage bolts.

Joseph P thank you for the information. I have been there. I even talked to a customer service pop up window. I was told to contact the experts here. In looking at the parts digram I am thinking it is # 27 they call it a carring burner. In the owner's manual on page 9 they call it a carry over tube. I want to make sure they are one and the same, since they are non returnable and I need the hardware kit to attatch these parts being mine has rusted out, they list 2 hardware kits and I don't know which one I need.

Thank you for your question on the BBQ grill support parts for the burners.

It looks like from the picture that either the burners attach to the flame cross over bar to the burner fire box bottom.

I think the part you are looking for is the crossover bar. Burner carrier for BBQ grill model 415.16107110 .

The screws are all contained in a complete hardware pack for about $12.00. You may be able to find some screws locally to attach this bracket.

Thank you for the update. In looking at the diagram if you are referring to the cross bars with the bends in them they will go on the inside of the upright legs. Make sure you put the bend on the end of the support cross pieces as illustrated. Note the angle of the cross pieces in the picture as pointing on the non-wheeled legs to the right and the wheeled end to the left to give you the correct offset for the folding of the legs for storage. Please let me know how it goes. Sam A.

Q:

I have a Proform elliptical machine model 831.28537.1 How do I change the pedal axle?

A:

I am sending you an image of a page from the owners manual for the elliptical. You need to reverse the instructions for removing the pedal spring.

Remove the side cover and remove the crossbar the pedal shaft broke from.

A:

I believe that the pedal axle is part number 32 and is located in the center and between the two side covers. I ran into a similar problem lately with a proform elliptical where bubbles in the pedal axle caused to to break while being used. The pedal axle is held into the crossbars by a bolt located under the covers and then held in place by an adhesive. In order to reach the bolt holding the axle in place you will need to remove the foot pedals and the four screws holding the cover on the the cross bars. After that use a good solvent to break up the adhesive's hold and you should be able to remove the pedal axle without problem. Installing a new pedal axle is much easier than removing the old one so once you get the old one out you shouldn't have any more problems.
