Question and Answers

Q:

insinkerator dishwasher model # clsup-2 CLSUP-2 In-sink-erator Dishwasher

A:

Thank you for your qeustion.  I am sorry for the problem with your Insinkerator Dishwasher.  This model has a motor that runs one direction to wash and reverses direction to drain.  If the motor does not run in the drain cycle then likely the timer is at fault.  If the motor will wash then the motor is likely okay.  If the motor reverses and runs in the drain cycle but does not drain then the drain impeller 51391 is likely the problem.  The impeller51391  is no longer available as a part.  I believe you should start shopping for a replacement.  I hope this helps.  You can reply with any additional details for further assistance.

A:

Dishwashers can be difficult to troubleshoot. While you wait for the expert, you can check a troubleshooting guide from another web site if you wish. I attached below. If you would like to schedule a technician to do the diagnosis and repair, an option is the Sears Home Services scheduler below.

From the description you give I suspect there is a power problem or the timer is bad.

Are there any lights at all?

This is an older dishwasher and some parts like the timer are no longer available.

If there are no lights and the unit is completely dead I'd suggest checking the electrical box of the dishwasher behind the lower access panel. Turn the power to the unit off first.

The house wiring is usually connected to the dishwasher wiring with wire nuts. Check and tighten the connection.

If not a connection problem then I suggest it is time to go shopping. The most likely bad part is no longer available.

Check out some new dishwasher choices at the following link: New Dishwashers .

I hope this helps. Hopefully you have a loose wire nut. You can reply with any additional details for further assistance.

Q:

Are Kitchen Aid parts (dishwasher lower rack) compatible with Insinkerator dishwasher parts?

A:

After comparing the ISE lower rack image to the Kitchen Aid lower rack image, they look the same to me. The Kitchen Aid lower rack is part number 4172117, model number used is; KUDC220T1.
