Question and Answers

Q:

heat kicks on for 2 seconds and shuts off Crosley CDG6505W

A:

 Hi,

Thanks for contacting  ManageMyLife.  I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your appliance.

The dryer when the flame was on, was the motor running and if it was running and the cabinet open the air flow was correct and it would trip the thermal fuse, which is heat tripped.   So when you had the hi-limit thermostat on the burner tube jumped was the dryer apart or the front panel installed to keep the air flow correct.  If the hi limit is jumped and the cabinet front panel off the test would be to only see if the valve and the igniter and radiant senor operated.  And they do.  So is the hi-limit thermostat faulty?  Or is the radiant sensor faulty.

The cycling thermostat could also be faulty because the thermal fuse opened up.

It is going to be the cycling thermostat or the hi limit thermostat faulty it this case.

Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. We are always here to help.

Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com.
