The model number is correct I just re-checked it, it is hard to see with the photo but the trim on the outside edges of the burner cartridge holds pans larger than 9" off the surface. Is there any type of glass ring or something that can be used for larger pans ? Will it hurt anything if the pan is only in contact on one edge ?

Thank you for question and I understand your concern. There are no types of shims or rings available because it would reduce the transfer of heat to the pots and pans. The pots and pans must sit flat and make total contact with the smooth glass cooking surface in order for the radiant burners to transfer heat to the pots and pans properly. If the pots and pans are not contacting the glass surface, the heat can not transfer properly to the pots and pans and it will also cause the radiant burner to short cycle on and off.
