Q:

Gas cooktop clicking CCG2523W

A:

Thanks for the information about your cook top model CCG2523W; sorry you are having a problem. I will be glad to assist you. Each burner control valve has an igniter switch attached to it. These switches are very delicate and It appears one or more of your igniter switches is sticking and causing the igniter to come on and stay on after using them. These switches will malfunction if they get wet as well as get a tiny bit of debris in them, often you can solve the issue just by turning the burner knob on/off quickly several times, this action will often clean the switch and it will work properly again. If this does not help replacing the switch is the next step.  I hope this helps you, if you need more help reply with added details and I will be happy to respond. Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Once all the brass collar nuts have all been removed, the burner bases should just lift up and off. To remove the glass top, remove all the knobs and the burner pans and the glass top should lift off.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
