From the information you have provided above, it seems to me like the belt may have come loose or broken off,. The Belt is connected to the motor that runs to the brush. I would see check for this to get the vacuum back up and going.

Thank you for your question as to which part to replace.

If you have check the connector at the bottom of the wand as it connects to the power mate connector on the swivel and it shows arcing or blackening of the contacts that may be the issue and you would need to replace the Extension wand tool and the wire harness in the swivel assembly.

I would first suggest taking the Extension wand apart first to see if the ribbon connector contacts are the problem.

You will need to locate the two plastic clips on the plastic channel on the back of the extension wand and pull them out. Then you can slide the channel to release the lock on the channel and gain access to the inside ribbon and contact cover connection at the top. This connector is replaceable. The image below may help you with this.
