Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com. I know how frustrating it is to have a garage door opener not functioning correctly, hopefully I can help.

Due to safety regulations I can not instruct you how to bypass the sensors. Even though you are the one bypassing them, Sears and I can be held liable for any injury or damage caused from bypassing them. It is a problem that the safety sensors are out of alignment, but being out of alignment, the door should still want to move slightly up or down and then reverse.

You should be able to override the sensor circuit temporarily by holding the wall control button continuously until the door reaches the closed position. The remotes will not override the sensors since it is not certain someone would be in clear sight of the door to confirm it is safe to close at that time. The override should only be used for emergency situations however, and we would recommend that you do not use a garage door opener without working safety sensors. However, if you have no operation at all from wall control or remotes, it could be something else.

I'm curious to know whether you hear the motor trying to work inside the unit when you hit the wall control or the remotes. The wall controls are typically hard wired, and if yours is, we can rule out the logic board. It almost sounds as if we have an issue with the nylon gears inside the unit or with the motor itself. If you do hear the motor within the unit, that's a good sign it is a gear issue rather than a motor issue, but if the motor is not working, it could be seized.

Disconnect the power to the opener and remove the outer cover. Inspect the nylon gears for wear. Restore the power and start the opener. If the gears are turning but not moving the trolley, the gears need to be replaced.

If you have any further questions or inquiries, please don't hesitate to ask. Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com.

Thanks for getting back to me. This is somehow referencing a different garage door opener. I have a model #13953975SRT1. I checked to hear if the motor was running when the wall controls were hit - no noise at all. I rechecked the sensors - yes on the sending, no on the receiving be unseized?

G, by pressing and holding the wall button you will over ride the sensors and the door should close then just pressing and releasing the wall button should open the door the sensors are only for closing the door not opening it. if you hit the wall button and release it the main lights should flash 10 times letting you know it is a sensor issue. if the door won't close holding the wall button in and all you get is a click from the opener it would most likely be the logic board. there is a small led light by the learn button it is a diagnostic light and should be flashing a code from 1 - 6 flashes then pause and repeat over and over see it you have a flash code. and post back with the code or if the door will close holding the wall button in or not. you can also try a reset by unplugging the opener for 30 min. then plug it back in and try it again and look for the flash code.

Hi Greg, based on the information you have provided I would recommend checking the safety sensors. Both sensors are supposed to show a green light on them, if you see any other color. Try to re align the sensors, if your not able to get them back to green then they will need to be replaced.

Expert Lyle W, I to have this same freezer and my situation is identical to the person who posted on May 30, 2014 about a recall or solution! Researching this freezer on the Sears website, there was an amazing 58% of the people who had purchased this freezer that are facing the exact same problem! I took your advice and called this number your gave, only to be connected to the Spanish speaking customer service. I asked her to please speak English, which she did. She told me flat out, you bought it, it's out of warranty, Sears will do nothing for you. I explained about my food loss, as well as my service call fee of $75 I had to pay to a local serviceman to come out, because Sears had no one available for an emergency call! She told me nothing will be done, I told her of the many people who had the same issue and she again said Sears will do nothing, is there any other questions you have. I asked to speak to someone in management, and she stated that I had reached as far as this will go, she was the end of the line. I'm just sick.... Also when I initially called with the part # and ordered it, Sears sent me a thermostat instead. I have just returned it 2 days ago. I am waiting to see if they credit me back my 40$ for the part, they did credit back the 20$ overnight shipping that they chose to ship it by! I have bought ALL of my Kenmore appliances through Sears, most recently a dishwasher at over $400. This is bad business, poor customer care and frankly a complete rip off! In looking at the complaints they go back into 2011! Why wasn't it stopped being sold? Why would they stop making the parts that we need to rectify the situation? This makes no sense. I'm done with Sears. They knew this products history when they sold it to me, and continued to sell it, only now its a different model #. Buyer Beware!

I guess I should feel blessed that mine lasted as long as it did... which considering freezers my family has owned, really wasn't long at all - almost 5 years. I could kick myself for not looking into potential issues with this product before it died. I noticed it making a strange buzzing sound, and opened it to find everything nearly warm. Nothing could be salvaged. Like the others, I'm officially done with Kenmore. I have always trusted the brand, but this was a painfully expensive lesson learned. I lost at least $500 worth of food, $100 of which, I just bought last week. :(

Q:

Front panel has frequent beeping episodes 79575542401 Kenmore Elite Refrigerator

A:

Thank you for your inquiry on your Kenmore Washer, Model: 110.20022013. From reviewing the details on your model, your post did not indicate if the beeping was continuous or if only occurs when you are trying to use a specific function. When I reviewed the parts on your model refrigerator, I noticed that this model is equipped with a door left open alarm. It will buzz 3 times if the door is left open for more than 1 minute. That signal will repeat every 30 seconds until it senses the door is closed. If the door is closed, but the beeping is in this sequence, you may have a faulty door sensor. If the beeping has a sequence to it, please count the number of beeps in the sequence and then measure the time between sequences. That may be a fault code the technicians use to troubleshoot a problem. Also check and see if the control panel displays any codes when the refrigerator is beeping. Please respond to this thread the information to research this issue for you further. Also make sure the unit is plugged into a 3 prong wall outlet that has a good ground. If it's not grounded, that could be the whole problem.

Safety Warning: Before beginning the repair, disconnect the direct power supply to the refrigerator to prevent the risk of injury or any electrical shock.

If you don’t feel comfortable or confident in this repair, then you can have it repaired at home by a sears technician. I have the included a link to the website: Sears Home Services or call 1-800-469-4663

I hope this answered your question. Thank you for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com, and have yourself a wonderful day.
