Display backlit, but no numbers on XP90 Bike Exerciser 831215220 Proform Proform xp 90 cycle

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more than happy to assist you. I can understand any frustration you may have experienced with regards to your unit. Let’s see what we can do for you.

Sounds like the control board is bad, but try these simple steps first.

1. Unplug the reed sensor,
2. Place the red and black leads on the two wires
3. Turn the flywheel so that the magnet (should be mounted on the flywheel)passes by the sensor(make sure the sensor is only 1/8" away)
4. The meter should show the sensor opening and closing if it does not recheck the gap from the magnet and if it is good, replace the reed switch.
5. The other possibility is the magnet fell off the flywheel and in this case you will need to super glue it back in place.

If none of this work then the control board is probably bad. You might be able to find a good tech that could come out and fix it.

Hope this information has helped you. If you are not comfortable doing this repair you can click here to schedule a technician or call toll free 1-800-469-4663. Again, thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com.

Can you point me to where I can find the full disassembly manual for this model? I'd like to know how to take the section of the bike that houses the reed switch and the section that houses the flywheel. In your response line #2, did you mean to connect an ohm meter to the red and black leads?

Q:

Why won't the microwave respond? 72180803401 Kenmore Elite Microwave

A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when there is trouble with the microwave.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Kenmore Mircowave model number 72180803401.

Thank you for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your questions about your Kenmore Microwave. I am so sorry to hear it has problems with the microwave nor responding to its program. I know what a time saver the microwave is and know you want to get it working again quickly. In this case, I suggest you have it tested and repaired by a qualified technician.

We do not give advice on repairing microwave ovens because they are inherently dangerous to service. Microwaves contain high voltage internal components that can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is unplugged from the outlet. You need special equipment to work on a microwave starting with an anti-static wrist strap grounded to the microwave to even test components in it. Even minor door repairs and adjustments can cause microwave leakage, and a microwave shielding leakage test MUST be performed using a survey meter after any microwave service.

For these safety reasons I strongly recommend having this repair completed by a qualified service technician. You can schedule service online at www.SearsHomeServices.com or by calling 1-800-4-MY-HOME (1-800-469-4663). Here at SearsPartsDirect.com we love to help you with your repairs, but our expert advice is that microwaves are just too dangerous for a do-it-yourself project.

Hi Larry, I understand that it is too dangerous to repair myself. I'm trying to determine if this is an issue for an electrician, or for a service technician. I'd like to avoid paying for a service call for a repair tech if it turns out that it is an electrical problem with my home, or vice versa. Hence my question of "Is this more of an issue with the microwave, or with my house?" Thank you, Samantha

Q:

Craftsman garage door opener stopped working

A:

Thank you for your question. Congratulations on the new house.  I am sorry you are having this issue with the garage opener.  Since the wall unit, and sensors have gone out, this would be either a problem in the circuit, outlet, the logic board in the opener has failed, or you have a bad wire running from the logic board out. Unplug the opener, remove the cover and check the wires from the logic board. Also check the logic board for any burned spots or corrosion. If the logic board has failed, it will need to be replaced. While you have the lens cover off, get the model number.  It begins with 139.  You will need it to order a replacement at Sears Parts Direct. If this is an older opener, and due to the cost of a new logic board, it may be more cost effective to just replace the opener. You can view new openers at Sears .  If further help is needed, please reply with the model number.  Thank you for using Manage My Life.
