Question and Answers

Q:

Dryer won't start AGQ6000ES1

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com and being a valued member.  I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your dryer is not working properly.

If the door switch is okay, then you could have a failed control board, a defective thermistor, a bad drive motor or a wiring failure in the motor circuit.

I have attached the diagnostic instructions.

Does the control beep or the LED flash when the start button is pushed.?

If yes, Is an error code displayed? No- Measure the voltage drop between pins 1 & 2 of J-4. If you get 120 it is a defective control board. If it is 0 then it is the door switch.

If no, Measure the voltage drop between the red wire on the thermal limiter and neutral.

120vac= Measure the voltage drop between the orange wire on the thermal limiter and neutral. If 0, Defective thermal limiter. If 120, Measure the voltage drop
between pins 1 & 2 of the eight pin plug of the wire
harness to the control board.
120 defective control board.
