Q:

What faucet adapter can I use? MCD4100AWX Maytag Dishwasher

A:

Thank you for choosing sears I would be happy to help you with your dishwasher. Upon researching model MCD4100AWX; the manufactures of this dishwasher only make one standard size adapter that comes with the unit. If you need a different size adapter you can go to a local hardware store to see if the size you need is available.

I trust this information will help you, have a great day.

Q:

portable dish washer mdc4650aww won't connect securely to sink faucet mdc4650aww

A:

Thank you for being Sears’ valued member and for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about your portable Maytag dishwasher model MDC4650AWW. I am so sorry you are still unable to attach the hose coupler without it leaking. I will be happy to help you with this. I recommend you start by check the part you ordered and have received. There should have been a total of 4 parts in the Aerator and Adapter assembly. You should have received two washers, the adapter and the aerator. If you order part W10254672 from Sears and did not receive all 4 pieces, please contact our customer service at 1-800-366-7278 for assistance with getting your order corrected.

Assuming you did receive the complete assembly, it sounds like you are missing the gasket out of the Coupler and Hose Assembly. I have included the link below for you to order that gasket.

Coupler Assembly Gasket for Maytag Dishwasher Model MDC4650AWW

I hope this answers your question. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.

Hi, I ordered the gasket you recommended, but after inserting it into the coupler, now my aerator adapter in unable to insert far enough to lock into place. I am not convinced that is the correct gasket, also because it is not present on the parts diagram. Do you have any other suggestions?

Thank you for your response and the additional information. I am so sorry the gasket did not resolve the problem for you. The gasket is listed on the Cabinet & Faucet Coupler Assembly (key 15A) but is not illustrated in the diagram. That is why I assumed you were missing it.

There are no additional parts to the coupler and aerator assemblies. While the adapter will fit most faucets, it sounds like in this case the hook up may not be compatible with your faucet. I recommend contacting Maytag to see if they may have another option for you. I have their contact number for you. It is 1-800-688-9900.

I hope this helps. Thank you for using our SearsPartsDirect.com service.

Hi, thank you for your reply. I don't believe the problem is my with my faucet, because the adapter fits the faucet. The problem I am having now is simply that the adapter will not fit into the coupler. Do you have any other suggestions?

Thank you for your response and the additional information. This portable dishwasher is made for the hose/coupler to attach to the faucet. When the coupler and the faucet are not compatible, then the aerator/adapter is used. Sometimes not all of the parts of the aerator/adapter are needed. I recommend trying it by removing some of the parts until you get a combination that works. Since the adapter attaches to the faucet, but not the coupler and hose assembly, either the hose/coupler or the aerator/adapter assembly is damaged or defective.

I hope this helps. Thank you again for choosing Sears.

The W10254672 aerator or adapter is avaialble from the following link: Sears PartsDirect .

It should screw onto the exiting faucet. Turn it left to loosen the old one and turn it right to tighten the new one.

You can use a pair of pliers and a small wash cloth to protect the finish and prevent scratches.

You can reply with any additional details for further assistance.
