Question and Answers

Q:

Door handle ADB1500AWW0

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect. I will be more than happy to assist you with your Amana dishwasher.

From the information you have provided above, I can understand the frustration of having your dishwasher malfunction, after researching model number ADB1500AWW0. The handle is assembled with the control panel of the unit. If the handle needs replacing then it will have to be the entire panel.

I hope you found this information useful. Again thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business, have a great day.

*Safety disclaimer before you try and repair the unit make sure the power supply is disconnected. There may be sharp parts to the unit that can cause injury to you if not careful. Q:

Amana dishwasher won't start. Diagnostic assistance please

A:

Thank you for your question.  I am sorry you are having a problem with your Amana ADB1500AWW Dishwasher.   From the description you give I suspect a bad harness or connection.  The image below contains the instructions to enter and run a Diagnostic test cycle.  The keypads should react when pressed.  There is also a wiring diagram in the image below.  There should be 120 volts to the control even with the door open.  See the highlighted Black and White wire showing where to check voltage.   When the door is shut there should be voltage to the control at the circled black and white wires.  You would need a meter to check this.  If there is voltage yet no reaction whenthe keypads are pressed I suspect the control board needs to be replaced.  If all keypads failed at the same time then the control is likely the problem. Most times only a single keypad will fail.  I hope this helps.  You can reply below with any additional details for further assistance.  You can also have the problem checked and repaired in your home by a technician.  Here is the link: Sears Home Services Dishwasher Repair.   Thank you for using Manage My Life.

The washer was behaving as though completely dead, electronically. I took the door apart, disconnected and reconnected all of the components, and it's sprung to life again. All's well.

Something like this could be caused by a loose or corroded electrical connection on the touchpad or main control board. From your last thread post it sounds like you got the dishwasher working after checking the electrical connections. Remember to disconnect power before attempting access.
