Troubleshooting

Question and Answers

Q:

What would cause my Amana dishwasher to make a grinding noise?

A:

There is probably an object in the wash motor assembly or possibly a broken or stripped impeller drive shaft. The wash motor assembly should be disassembled and the object removed. The object is typically located in the sump area or sitting on the motor mounting plate. The object also could be found lodged in the holes of the chopper plate or stuck to the end of the chopper blade. The size of the hard object could range from a small piece of pecan shell to larger objects like screws, bread ties, broken pieces of plastic, or plastic wrap pieces stuck to the chopper blade or in the chopper plate.

The seal kit needed for your model is 99003341.
