First, I recommend that you check the door strike (shown in the first image below). See if that component has any apparent damage. Try to bend or adjust it so that the door will open properly. If it is damaged, you can order a new door strike from the Sears PartsDirect website. The part number for the door strike is 99002644. You will need to shut off the circuit breaker and water supply then pull the dishwasher out from under the counter if you need to replace this component. There are normally brackets on the front of the dishwasher that secure it to the underside of the counter. Remove the screws that secure these brackets and carefully pull the dishwasher out to access the door strike. The first image shows how to replace that component.

If the door strike is okay, I recommend that you shut off the circuit breaker and remove the inner door panel to access the door latch assembly. The procedure for removing the inner door panel is shown in the second image. The parts diagram of the door latch assembly is shown in the third image. Check the door latch assembly for damage. You will probably need to replace the latch assembly that is Key 5 in that image (part W10275768). The 4th image shows how to remove the latch assembly and the micro-switches (Key 4). You can transfer the micro-switches and the handle (Key 3) to the new door latch assembly. If the handle is broken, you can replace that component as well.

These tips should help you fix this problem on your dishwasher. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
