Q:

Cleaning my Amana Oven

A:

Good morning.... I can understand your desire to use your self cleaning option. I did locate a link that will discuss this situation in greater detail. Though this link discusses a different model number, the mechanics are likely going to be very similar. Keep in mind that an expert will be responding within the next two business days if not sooner and will likely offer you more information and instruction. I hope this link will help you operate that self cleaning feature and have a nice day.

I can understand how important it is to have the right information for your range.  Normally these instructions are included in the manual.  Since you do not have one, I try to find instructions as close to your model as possbile.  Just follow these to run your self clean:

  1. Be sure the clock shows the correct time of day.
  2. Press SELF CLEAN. "— — —" appears in the display.
  3. Press the UP ARROW until "3:00" appears in the display for a 3 hour cycle, or press the DOWN ARROW until "2:00" appears in the display for a 2 hour cycle. For satisfactory results, use a 2 hour self-clean cycle for light soils and a 3 hour cycle for average or heavy soils.
  4. As soon as the UP or DOWN ARROW is released, "CLn" appears in the display.
  5. As soon as the controls are set, the motor driven lock will begin to close automatically and the “LOCK” indicator light will flash. DO NOT open the door while the light is flashing (it takes about 15 seconds for the oven door to lock).
  6. The "LOCK" light will glow until the cleaning cycle is completed or cancelled, and the oven temperature has cooled.

I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Yes, you will need to turn the dial to the clean oven setting. This will allow the cycle to start. Just make sure the door is locked.
