Q:

how do i fix the noise on my tv

A:

Having a television that is making a strange noise can be inconvenient and I will be happy to help. While you are waiting for your expert answer, I suggest you add to the thread of this question and include the full model number of your appliance so that the expert can provide you with a more detailed answer. I did manage to find a link in where you can enter your appliance model number and the owners manual will pop up in where you can find some great troubleshooting tips. I hope my link is useful.

There are several things components inside the TV that could make the squeal. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to determine without being at the TV.

Note: Working on a TV can be difficult due to the high voltage circuits inside. Always remember to unplug any TV before trying to work on it.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

With the picture shrinking before the set stop coming would lead me to several components on the power supply board and the board that makes the picture expand( the vertical circuit). This would be hard to diagnose this way. I would recommend that you have a technician come to you home and take a look at the TV. It would cost about $100 for a technician to come out and between $375-550 for the repair.
