The "F2" fault code implies the oven temperature exceeded 590 degrees with the door in the unlocked position or it exceeded 990 degrees with the door locked. If the actual over temperature condition occurred it may have a failed control board. It could also have an open thermal switch or high resistance connection in the temperature sensor. (See image below.)

Based on your symptom I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your range or you may want to think about replacing the range rather that having it repaired.

I recommend calling 1-800-4MY-HOME or 1-800-469-4663 to set up a service appointment if you decide to have it diagnosed and repaired.

I am sorry to hear about this flooding problem. That type of washer does not have a safeguard against the failure of that water level pressure switch. If the contacts on that switch do not shift from "empty" to "full" then the fill valves will continue to get voltage and will allow the washer to fill indefinitely. If that pressure switch is working normally when it is directly set on one of the dots then it may not need to be replaced. I recommend that you monitor the washer for a few weeks when it is filling to make sure that the pressure switch is working properly. If you continue to have problems with the washer overfilling then you will probably need to replace that pressure switch. You can order that part from this page: Water Level Pressure Switch for Kenmore Washer 110.20712990 . Be sure that you unplug the washer before accessing internal components. That link for a previous answer that Alina F. posted in the above response show how to open the console to access that water level pressure switch.

I hope that this information helps. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician examine and repair the washer, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .

I don't recommend that you pull that transmission cover off at this time. There is an isolation motor coupler between the motor and the transmission (see second image below). I recommend that you UNPLUG the washer and check that component first. If the washer will not agitate or spin even though the motor is running, then that motor coupler is probably broken. If it is, then you can order a replacement from this page: Motor Coupler Part 285753A . If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.

I just checked for the model number and there is an extremely small 110 in front of the number given which I did NOT see and the last 3 digits 990 is also shown in a somewhat smaller font. The machine was purchased around 1997. The complete number is 110 20842 990. Thank you.

That lid switch will prevent the washer from spinning but will not prevent the washer from running in the agitation mode in this model. Check to see if the washer will run in the spin mode of the cycle. Check to see if the timer begins to advance once the washer is full and the filling stops. If the washer runs properly in that spin mode then the motor is apparently okay. If the timer runs and advances in the agitation mode after the washer is full then this indicates that the water level pressure switch is apparently okay. If the timer does not run and advance once the filling stops then you could have a bad water level pressure switch or a wiring failure in that circuit. The image below shows a wiring diagram for your washer with that circuit through the pressure switch traced in wire colors. If necessary, you can check that tan wire connection between the pressure switch and timer. Be sure that you unplug the washer before accessing internal components. If that wiring connection is okay, then you may need to replace the pressure switch.

You can order parts from this page: Kenmore Washer Model 110.20842990 Parts . Be sure that you unplug the washer before accessing internal components.

These initial tips may help you fix that washer problem. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details based on the above advice.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .

Washer will not run in spin cycle. Washer filled to proper level, timer advanced but STILL does NOT spin. ( you know it went to the next phase, because the lights flicker) Please be advised, I just ordered a MOTOR and replaced it. I KNEW it wasn't the motor once I took the old one out because it wasn't frozen. But too late. Is it time to throw it out and get my money back for all the parts I ordered?

Hello Harry. If you are the same member that provided the information in the above posts then you could have problem with the wiring or the speed switch on that motor. A flickering of lights indicates that you could have a short in the wiring or one of the components. Since you replaced that motor and that did not help, I recommend that you return the parts and consider replacing the washer. A technician would normally be able to check the wiring and find the problem but that will likely be difficult for your to accomplish on your own. If this is a new post and the washer will run and agitate properly but will not spin, then I recommend that you check the lid switch if you have not already done that. If the washer motor runs in the agitate and spin modes but the agitator does not move and the basket does not spin (but the washer does drain) then you likely have a broken motor coupler. Reply with additional details if any of these conditions apply to your situation. Thanks.
