I am sorry to hear that the coffee bean chute is not grinding enough beans. I know how frustrating that is to have happen.

I suspect that the coffee bean chute needs to be cleaned. The only part of the grinding mechanism that you can clean is the bean chute. That process is shown in the owner’s manual on page 9. If that does not help, then you will probably need to replace the coffee maker. There are not any serviceable parts for that portion of the coffee maker.

Jeff, I'm having the same problem, but it isn't the chute that needs cleaning. I can hear that not enough beans are being ground, like they are not getting to the grinder. I move the beans around in the hopper and they start grinding. I'm using the same coffee beans that I have since day one. Biggby French Roast. Is there anything servicable in the grinder area? Thanks for any help on this frustrating issue. Scott

I, too, am having this issue with not enough beans being ground. And the chute... I've tried cleaning it and nothing falls through to the filter.... it's like I'm just moving the grounds in the chute around but they aren't going anywhere. I've only had this coffee maker a week and now this.... any suggestions? And WHERE are the grounds supposed to go while I'm brushing them around in the chute?? The manual is useless about this.

The only part of the grinding mechanism that you can clean is the bean chute. The bean chute cleaning procedure is covered on page 9 of the owner’s manual. If that does not help, then you will probably need to replace the coffee maker. This model does have a 1-year full warranty. If the cleaning doesn’t work, you can exchange the coffee maker at any Sears retail or outlet store within the first year.

I am sorry to hear that the coffee maker is not brewing. I know how frustrating that is.

There are two common problems that will cause it to stop brewing. Either the one-way valve can get clogged open or closed. In which you can usually fish out the debris that causes this problem with a toothpick.

The tubes can also get clogged with calcium. This is especially true of the aluminum heating tube. The normal way to solve this problem is to run vinegar or CLR through the machine once, and then run two batches of water through to clean out the vinegar or CLR.

If the on/off switch or the electronics have shorted, then you will want to replace the machine.
