Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the air compressor. Once the air compressor turns off go ahead and unplug it from the wall. Then listen for an air leak. If you hear air, leaking out of the pressure switch the problem is a defective check valve in the tank. The check valve is a one-way valve that allows air in to the tank but not out. If the check valve fails the line between the pump and the tank is always pressurized. If this happens, the motor can not start. You can try to clean the check valve first. I have posted an image below that shows how to clean the valve. If it still leaks after cleaning, it should be replaced. The part can be ordered from the following link.
