Thank you for your question on the air compressor you filling the tank with compressed air.

If as you say there is air coming out of the air intake manifold then the reed valves are either broken or not sealing. They will need to be replaced.

I have four different models listed with a 919.165. 14,15,17, and 27.

Please make sure you have the correct model when ordering replacement parts.

You will need to order the reed plate kit and the two o-rings to make sure it will seal when you put it back together.

I will give you the link to the 919.165140 model but please check your model number off the cover to make sure you are ordering the correct parts. Items numbers in the image of 63,64,65.

Air compressor parts list .

I hope this will help.

Hi Dan, Sorry for the delay in responding to your question. Since you did not provide a model number I can only give a basic response. With the information you have provide it could be serveral different problems. You could have worn out gaskets that are leaking, the check valve could be faulty or the safety valve is leaking.

If you have further questions please let me know.

Hi,

Thanks for contacting ManageMyLife. I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your appliance not working.

Make sure it is not leaking out as the pressure is building up.

Check this and make sure this is not the problem.

The only time you should feel or hear air coming from the switch area, is when the compressor shuts off. This should only be for about 3 to 4 seconds as the head unloads the head pressure.

Make sure that none of the hardware attached to the manifold where the switch is located is leaking.

There is a truck valve, a pop off valve, a gauge and the pressure switch connections. The only other fitting would be the relief pressure line from the check valve on the tank to the switch.

If you are hearing air leaking all the time it is running then there either a bad switch or a leaking air line connector. You had said that you replaced the connector so I think it may be the internal relief valve that is no staying closed.

Unless you can feel air coming out of the air intake the reed valves are fine.

If you let the compressor run for a while and then unplug it from the out or shut it off manually and you hear air constantly leaking from the pressure switch the leak is at the switch. With the compressor turned off it should be easier to feel and hear where the leak is coming from.

Please make sure the drain pet cock on the underside of the tank is also closed and not leaking air.

Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. We are always here to help.
