compressor motor runs slow and buzzes. 919152931 Craftsman Air compressor

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more than happy to assist you. I can understand any frustration you may have experienced with regards to your unit. Let’s see what we can do for you.

It sounds like something is binding up the compressor. Have you pulled it apart to see if like a connecting rod broke, or a bearing is bad? It could also be that the head on the piston is bent. With this you would have to open up the compressor to see the issue.

Hope this information has helped you. If you are not comfortable doing this repair you can click here to schedule a technician or call toll free 1-800-469-4663. Again, thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com.

Q:

Air Compressor Motor 919152931 Craftsman Air compressor

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.
Sorry for the inconvenience with the motor no longer being manufactured, I know how frustrating that is to have occur.
If there was a similar motor that would work, the manufacturer would substitute it in place of the original. With that not occurring, the only viable options I can forsee would be to run an online Google search for the part name and part number (MO-3024) and see if you can find one still in circulation available for sale. Outside of that, you could take the motor to a local electrical supply house and see if you could match one up, however, there may be some fabrication involved with that option. I would try finding the motor online first and see where that takes you.
Hope this helps and let us know if we can be of any further assistance. Thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com.
