Q:

Model # 917881064 Snowthrower Not Throwing Snow 917881064 Craftsman Snow thrower

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect. I will be more than happy to assist you with your Snowthrower.

From the information you have provided above, yes there is a good chance the snow thrower is in need of some shear pins. This pins become damaged or broken they will not allow the auger to turn. I would start with these and if you still come across the same issue than it could be the belt as well.

I hope you found this information useful. Again thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business, have a great day.

Q:

Tire size and bolt spacing 917.881064

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

Based upon the model number for the snow thrower, the tires are 16X6.50-8. I was unable to find any specifications on the skid pad bolt spacing. We use OEM parts, so having the spacing isn't necessary and is usually not published by the manufacturer.

Based upon the tire spec, I was able to find some tire chains on Sears.com. I have linked it below for convenience.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Q:

1450 30 inch snow thrower 917881064 Craftsman Snow thrower

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

The idler spring 414557 will connect from the spring bracket (42) to idler arm (47) itself. Just look at the two parts and you should see a spot that has worn paint where the connection used to be.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Thank you for your question on the chute deflector not staying in set position.

Look at the handle below the console to see if there is a nut that you can tighten on the pivot for the chute control.

I think I remember that there was one and if you tighten it a little it should put more resistance on the handle pivot to keep it in the set position.

Please let me know if that worked. If you will need to place the handle control and cable.

A:

Remove the belt cover and check the tension on the belt when you engage the drive. The belt could be worn out but it may be just a simple cable adjustment to get more tension on the belt when you engage the drive. If you have to replace the belt you may want to look over the procedure in the owner's manual. Page 18 in the manual demonstrates and describes this procedure. If you cannot locate your manual you can go to the "manuals" section of our site and pull a copy of it up.

Thank you for using Manage My Life!

The answer pvalde2 sent has good information for removing the impeller, gear box, and auger shaft. You can't access the 2 bolts that hold the impeller to the impeller shaft.

If you have more questions, reply on this link and I will be glad to help.

You can go to http://services.sears.com/shs/category/repair?sid=MMLxexpertxmerch and get a Sears technician to repair the snow thrower.

Thanks, I was able to replace it easily once I realized that the bolts to take the auger housing off were located under the plastic storage compartment/belt shroud.

Q:

My snow blower's impeller pulley appears to have broken....now what?

A:

The impeller pulley is in front of the traction drive pulley. If the impeller pulley is broken, the auger or the impeller would not be turning.

You need to remove the belt cover and look to see where the broken part came from.

You can see a parts diagram for the snow thrower at [www.searspartsdirect.com]. You can pick out the part you need and order it from this page.
