Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I understand how frustrating it can be when the trimmer keeps shutting off. Based on the symptoms you've provided, it sounds like you are having problems with the fuel system. Check the float as it may not be set correctly or the valve isn't letting enough fuel into the carburetor bowl. I recommend also checking the gasket between the carburetor and air filter base. If this gasket is worn or installed wrong, the primer will not work correctly.
I suggest getting a carburetor repair kit if you want to fix it yourself or just getting a complete carburetor that's easier to replace.
