Q:

lawnmower

A:

Thank you for question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the mower. If the axle came off with the wheel, you need to determine if the axle broke off or the shoulder bolt came out. I posted an image below that shows what the axle should look like. If yours looks like this, you just need to reattach the axle with the shoulder bolt. The second image below shows the order the parts should be attached.  If you are missing parts for the mower, you can order replacement parts from the following link. Replacement parts for a Craftsman mower model 917389021.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you for using Manage my life.

This problem is most often caused by trash in the carburetor. Sometimes spraying the carb out with cleaner will work and other times it does not get into the carb enough to matter. My recommendation is to watch THIS VIDEO and use it as a reference for going through your carburetor.

The only thing outside of the carburetor that will typically cause this to happen is trash in the bottom of the tank or a plugged fuel line.

Q:

The pull starter recoil spring broke, do I have to take it in or can they send me the part?

A:

You will need to take the mower in for repair. Your Craftsman mower has a 2-Year full warranty. If it fails due to defects in material or workmanship within two years from the date of purchase, return it to any Sears’s store, Parts & Repair Center or other Craftsman outlet for free repair (or replacement if repair proves impossible). If the mower is used for Commercial or rental purposes the Warranty will only apply for 90 days from the date of purchase.
