Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the mower. Based on your symptoms I suspect the float or needle and seat are not regulating the fuel level in the carburetor. You can try to clean the carburetor first. I have found a video that shows how to clean the carburetor. Click here to watch the video. Once it is clean check the condition of the fuel line. If it is dry and cracked it should be replaced. Then fill the tank with fresh fuel and check the operation. If it still leaks, I recommend replacing the carburetor. You can order the parts from the following link.

The symptom of starting and running 20-30 minutes is usually a fuel cap that is not venting. Twenty to thirty minutes is how long it takes the fuel tank to vapor lock if the cap isn't letting air in to fill the space created when the fuel level goes down.

Try opening the fuel cap after 20 minutes and see if the engine keeps running. If it does keep running replace the fuel cap.

If this doesn't help the second most likely is a weak spark module. Test for spark when the engine dies.

You should also check the cooling fins on the engine for obstructions. This can cause the engine to overheat.
