Q:

Oil quantity 917383330

A:

Thank you for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

This mower will use 1 quart of SAE 30 motor oil. The dipstick may have a hash mark and the oil level should be half way on the hash mark. If not, 1 quart will work just fine.

If you have any further questions, let me know. Thanks again for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

Thank you for your question.  Usually mowers do not have holes on the top of the mower. Based on your description I am not sure if you are referring to a hole on the top of the engine or on the mower housing. If you could please reply below with more details about the hole, I will try to assist you with this. If you have a way of taking a picture of the hole, that will be very helpful. Please copy and paste the following link to be able to post the images. http://www.managemylife.com/mmh/questions/339076-hole-top-917383330-craftsman-craftsman-20amp-34-rotary-lawn-mowerI hope to hear from you.  Thank you for using Manage my life.Mark

Q:

Craftsman lawn mower leaks gas.

A:

Sears has a flat rate labor pricing of $56.99 in many areas for carry-in repair of lawn mowers. The parts would be extra but may not be that expensive depending on the exact location of the leak. Here is a link for the Sears Service website so that you can check for drop-off locations and labor rates in your specific area: Sears Home Services .

If you want to continue to use the mower and anticipate no other problems once the leak is fixed, then you can likely have the mower repaired for less than $100 by a Sears Technician.

Twenty years of use is admirable for this type of mower. If you suspect that the mower will have any other problems in the near future, I recommend that you consider replacing it.
