Q:

Bagger Attachment 917383271 Craftsman Lawn mower

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.
The grass bag for this mower has since been discontinued, and there is no direct substitute for the original bag, which means the design has since changed. The original frame for the bag is still available, which is part number 88614. If you are good at fabrication, you may be able to purchase the frame and then fabricate a grass bag to work with the frame. That would be the only option I can foresee outside of running an online search for the grass bag part number to see if there are any in circulation. However, due to the age of the mower, that is a long shot.
Sorry for the inconvenience with the discontinued bag, and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

A:

You can watch THIS VIDEO to see how the pull cord is replaced on your engine. The manual does not contain this information but if you'd like to view the manual you can click "manuals" at the top of the page and then put in your model number to see if it is available.

Thank you for using Manage My Life!

A:

Wade, Thank you very much. The manual for this model is not available at Manage My Life. I did a Bing search on replacing a pull cord and saw another video that gave me the information to accomplish the repair. It was really easy and I am somewhat mechanically-oriented but definitely not a "handy man." Evan

Q:

Is there a special tool to replace the lock ring on the primer plunger of a Craftsman lawn mower?

A:

A special tool is not required for replacing the lock ring for the primer bulb of your mower. The best tool to use is a socket.

Find a socket that will just fit into the opening the primer bulb goes into and place the ring in position.

Place the socket over the ring and tap the socket lightly with a hammer.
