Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with getting the engine to run. By what you have states there is a problem with the old fuel or a plugged carburetor. First, drain the fuel from the tank. A turkey baster works well for this. Then refill the tank with fresh fuel and check the operation. If the engine still will not start, I recommend cleaning the carburetor. I have found a great video that will show you how to clean the carburetor. Please click here to watch the video.

Make sure to use caution and work in a well ventilated area when working with gasoline.
