Q:

I can't find any reference to the Spark plug Wire or the connector? 917378852 Craftsman Rotary mower

Q:

how do i replace the pull cord 917378852 Craftsman Rotary mower

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be more than happy to help with your lawn mower. Upon researching model 917378852; replacing the pull cord can be very difficult since it requires rewinding the starter spring perfectly so that the starter will work. If the spring is not wound correctly it can shoot out and cause an injury. Repairing the starter or installing the rope is a repair that a repair center would normally have to do. I recommend that you replace the starter assembly if you plan on doing the repair yourself. You can order the complete assembly witch just unscrews and screws back in place. I have posted a link of the starter assembly to view the link click here.

I trust this information will help you, we appreciate your business thank for choosing Sears.

Thank you for your question.

To remove the blade adapter the gas should be drained or ran out of the tank so the lawnmower can be placed on the side. Lay the mower so the carburetor and air cleaner are up.

Block the blade with a piece of wood and remove the blade bolt and blade. The blade adapter should pull off the engine shaft unless it is rusted to the engine shaft.

Try spraying rust buster between the engine shaft and the blade adapter and tapping the blade adapter with a hammer to help the rust buster penetrate. Tap on the back side of the blade adapter to tap it off the engine shaft.

If this procedure doesnt work, put the blade bolt back into the engine shaft and tighten it until the head is about inch from the blade adapter. Use a gear puller to pull the blade adapter off the shaft.
