Q:

Does the gear box on your self propelled mowers use lubricant in iy? 917378501

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.
The owner's manual on this model covers gear case lubrication on page 14. It states that "The gear case is filled with lubricant to the proper level at the factory. The only time the lubricant needs attention is if service has been performed on the gear case. If lubricant is required, use only ELF MULTIS EP 00. Do not substitute.
This grease can be picked up from an auto store or a location specializing with grease.
Hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

Thank you for your question.

I will try to assist you in repairing the mower. There is not any thing special about the routing of the cable. I recommend checking the part number you have received first. The correct number is 183567. This number should be on the cable housing. If the number does not match, you have received the wrong part. Once you have confirmed the correct cable, fasten the cable to the engine first. Then connect the Z end to the bail. Once it is connected, secure the housing to the hole that removes most of the slack in the cable.

Please reply below if you need further assistance on the repair of the mower.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired by a Sears technician. Here is a link that will provide the nearest drop-off locations: Sears Home Services .

Thank you for using Manage my life.
