Q:

Craftsman Lawn Mower over heated 917-378320

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear of the issue you're having with the mower. I know how frustrating that is.

That is very odd to have the plug come out while mowing. They are threaded in and won't work out easily unless the threads are stripped. I don't know if I can offer a solution based upon the symptom of it "overheating", there just isn't enough information. Does it die afterwards or run poorly?

If it dies after it gets warmed up, the fuel cap may not be venting properly. This would cause negative pressure in the tank and restrict fuel flow. If the mower starts back up after a while, then this is usually the type of issue.

It could also be carburetor related, however, without sufficient details, I am only speculating.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Q:

how do you reassemble the drive control handle that has two springs? 917378320 Craftsman Rotary mower

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I wasn't quite sure what you were referring to, but I believe it was the springs for the drive gear case. One is basically a stabilizing spring and the other connects to the drive cable. I have posted a picture below for reference, hopefully it helps.
